La lauréate du Prix Nobel de la Paix 2004 est décédée le 25 septembre 2011. La détermination de Wangari Muta Maathai, militante écologiste kenyane, fait d’elle une parente de Gandhi et de Mandela. 


Gandhi avait une fille, et elle s’appelait Wangari Muta Maathai. Mandela avait une sœur, et elle s’appelait Wangari Muta Maathai. Et si j’étais l’émancipation des femmes, le développement durable, et l’écologie politique, alors tu serais ma mère et tu t’appellerais… Wangari Muta Maathai.
