Le 28 août 1963, Martin Luther King prononce le discours le plus connu du XXème siècle. I have a dream ! devient le symbole du mouvement des droits civiques, scandé à l'issue d'une marche pacifiste qui est l'aboutissement d'un combat réalisé pas à pas.

Depuis petit je sais : l’humanité est encore à quatre pattes. Gesticulant comme un bébé, se tenant à peine debout, retombant sur son derrière de temps en temps, voire très souvent. Mais un jour, car il y a des jours comme ça, je l’ai vue un instant se tenir debout, et faire quelques petits pas...
